10 Incredibly Horrifying Mysteries From India

9. The Jodhpur Boom

The Jodhpur Boom

The residents of Jodhpur were shocked by a sudden, loud explosion on December 18, 2012. It appeared out of nowhere, bursting through the sky like a sonic boom generated by an airplane breaking the sound barrier. It was, however, more forceful in character, sounding eerily similar to a big explosion. The residents were concerned about the noise and asked about it, but it was quickly discovered that no planes had flown over the region and that no explosions had occurred. The cause of the “Jodhpur boom” remained a mystery.

The weirdest part is that it appears that the entire month was littered with strange, unexplained booms all over the world, from United Kingdom to Texas. These bangs were heard over a period of weeks, and they were occasionally accompanied by odd green light. A geologist at one of the places even said that the booms and accompanying tremors were unlike anything he had ever experienced, and that the official explanation that the Air Force was testing a new plane didn’t fit.

Were these odd sounds heard throughout the world linked in any way? Was it a weird new weapon, an extraterrestrial attack, or just a freak occurrence? Maybe we’ll find out one day.
